Hearing Aids

Vikki Swift Hearingcare

Vikki Swift offer a wide range of different hearing aid types, and with a choice of styles and colours. Our hearing assessments ensure that we provide the hearing solution that is perfectly suited to you and your lifestyle.

There are now more styles and sizes of hearing aids than ever before.

Modern hearing aids are small, discreet and stylish.

Technology is always moving forward and we always fit the latest technology available. Being independent, we are able to select from all the different hearing aid manufacturers’ hearing aids to get the right solution for your needs.

Digital Hearing Aids

Are programmed via a computer to boost the frequencies that are specific to your test results and individual needs, allowing greater flexibility when customising the aid to your requirements.

What to expect

Hearing Adjustment

It is rare that you will adjust to your new hearing aids right away. A committed attitude to wearing hearing aids combined with realistic expectations will provide the best results for the wearer.

Be patient

It’s important to note that hearing aids don’t sound the same as having your old hearing and adjusting to wearing them takes time. Like wearing glasses, you may experience some difficulty at first, but usually passes in time.

Learning to use them

It’s important to know what to expect and to learn how to get the most from your hearing aids in differing circumstances. You’ll need both willingness and patience to re-learn a new way of hearing. It helps to start slowly as well as to be consistent in using your new hearing aids.

In the ear (ITE)

Made in varying sizes, the smallest being the CIC (completely in the canal). They are custom-made to fit and are most suitable for people with mild to moderate hearing losses.

Behind the ear (BTE)

Suitable for all hearing losses, including those that are more severe. This type of hearing aid is also more popular with people who have poor dexterity, as they can be easier to handle and maintain.

Micro BTE’s

Suitable for moderate to severe hearing losses for people who want something more cosmetically pleasing than a traditional Behind The Ear model but need more power than a standard In The Ear model can offer.

Open fittings

Are only suitable for clients with high frequency hearing losses. Due to their design they stop the client feeling blocked up when wearing the hearing aid which can be experienced with more traditional fittings. Instead the ear remains open and only the high frequencies are increased.
